All Sorts Of Animals

In the List of books banned by governments, George Orwell’s Animal Farm holds a prominent place:

However, this post is not about banned books or my “non-fear of flying,” and it is not intended as a laudatory piece on George Orwell and his books.

Looking up some references for my previous post, I came across this gorgeous 50th Anniversary Edition of  Animal farm, illustrated by English cartoonist Ralph Steadman. Steadman is best known for his work with Hunter S. Thompson and his unorthodox interpretation of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland that he also illustrated.

Published in 1995, a special edition commemorated 50 years since  Animal farm’s  first publication in the US. It contained 100 of Steadman’s  full-color and halftone illustrations.

Paraphrasing George Orwell, Though all editions of Animal Farm are equal, this one is more equal than others.
