Rino Stefano Tagliafierro ‘B E A U T Y’

22-masters-818Rino Stefano Tagliafierro is an Italian experimental animator from Milan. A director of music  and fashion videos, he collaborated with other visual artists, creating  interactive video projections for exhibitions, museums and special events, and is widely known and recognized for his work.

“B E A U T Y” is his recent project (early January 2014). It is a stunning animated video, which is a series of moving masterpieces by Western painters,  as well as a majestic presentation of human and nature’s beauty, tragedy, joy, drama, human triumphs and failures — a truly grand meditation on the cycle of Life. man_holding_head

From the Renaissance and subsequent eras all the way through to the end of the 19th century, the once frozen moments are imagined as unfixed landscapes, animating the figure’s faces and movements within them through digital manipulation. Rino breathed a new life into them, rendering them more relatable to the present-day viewer. (From  Feather Of Me.)

Tagliafierro made interesting choices of artworks for his video. Neither paintings nor artists are identified. Besides some Russian painters, such as Ivan Shishkin (The Morning in a Pine Forest) and Ilya Repin, I marveled at these, among others:
